Cody

In Memory of my beloved Cody

Cody Passed at 2pm on March 10, 2003 at the ripe old age of around 14 1/2. He had lost the use of his back legs, and in the last few days was unable to even stand up. For a guy that had been the Husky at the head of the pack this must have been very upsetting to him. After a few days of this it was finally apparent to me that his time had come, and I had to make the hardest decision of my life. I persuaded the vet to send their techs over to put him to sleep, after waiting an agonising few hours for them to get here, the process was very quick and was over in a matter of minutes. He went very peacefully he didn't even get up. I Love him very much and will miss him terribly, he is with his "brother" 'Cade now and we will all be together again one day.

I adopted Cody from the Humane Society, where he was hidden in the back in the ":unadoptable section", where they put strays they know nothing about, he had three days to live and was on day 2. He instantly picked me out, and he came home with me the following day. (They needed to wait the full three days for him to be claimed). He bonded to me immediately even though he was about 1 to 2 years old. He has been like a puppy ever since following me around everywhere I go and whining if he can't see me. He is adorable. He took longer to get used to McQuaid, although 'Cade loved him at first sight. He is more of a people-dog than a dog-dog unlike 'Cade. He doesn't really have any bad habits, and is the best companion you could hope for. Oh OK, he does like to dig big holes in the garden, but that is a minor flaw :-)

Look at those eyes!
